Safety first.

Safety is always one of our top concerns at Glensheen.

So we felt it would be useful to let you know what we are doing to make Glensheen a safe place for all.

What are we offering?

First, we are opening Glensheen in phases. The first phase is the re-opening of the grounds, eventually we will open the mansion for self-guided one way traffic tours, and lastly in phase 3 we will bring back guided tours.

What are your safety precautions?

  • We have a Safety Plan in place and are following standards and suggestions from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), State of Minnesota, University of Minnesota, and also the American Alliance of Museums to make Glensheen safe for you to visit.
  • You will see physical distancing encouraged, Glensheen staff wearing masks, and cleaning and disinfecting of spaces increased.
  • Partitions have been installed at registers to provide an extra level of precaution for our guests and staff members
  • Glensheen has increased cleaning for your safety with frequent cleaning and disinfecting of staff workstations, frequent cleaning and preservation-friendly disinfecting in tour areas. A small team is dedicated to disinfecting high-touch surfaces throughout the estate ongoing everyday.
  • To help limit contact, we are requiring guests to pre-purchase and members to pre-redeem their grounds passes
  • We encourage all staff and guests to continue practicing healthy habits like washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
